Cordova, Smart & Williams, LLC's investment philosophy combines a balanced and disciplined approach with a non-traditional view of the middle market. We assess investment opportunities through a three-stage process that starts with a strategic industry review and follows up with an in-depth operational assessment of the company. We then perform extensive financial due diligence—but only if a transaction offers all partners the opportunity for mutual success.Our operating expertise is crucial to every step of this process. Identifying opportunities, evaluating market gaps, assessing operational strengths and weaknesses, evaluating management's capacity to both visualize and execute—all are integral to our approach, and all are fundamental to achieving attractive returns. 
Once a transaction closes, we enter a new phase of working with management, strengthening our partnership through a jointly developed engagement plan. The result is clear, mutually beneficial framework for identifying opportunities and challenges, delivering strategic guidance, and providing mentoring, monitoring and other support as needed. |
