Professional Experience
Michael A. Smart has more than 15 years of experience in private equity and investment banking and is a founding member of the firm and a Managing Partner of its Fund. Prior to forming Cordova, Smart & Williams, LLC, Mr. Smart was a Senior Advisor to First Atlantic Capital, a middle market buyout firm with approximately $500 million under management. Prior to joining First Atlantic Capital, Mr. Smart was at Merrill Lynch & Co. as a Managing Director in the Private Equity Group. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Smart was a founding Partner of the Carpediem Group, a mergers and acquisitions boutique and an Associate in mergers & acquisitions at Dillon Read & Co.
